What information does WaterproofingIndex collect?

Almost none. WaterproofingIndex is a directory you read. There is one optional quote form, no contact form, no sign-up and no account, so there is nothing here to submit and nothing for us to store. The cost and sizing calculators do have fields you can type into, but they work the answer out inside your own browser: what you enter is never sent to us, never saved and never seen by anyone else. No contact address is published for this site yet, so at present there is no route by which you could send us anything at all. If one is published, this policy will describe what happens to what you send. The one thing that does leave your browser is the request itself. Our host, Vercel Inc., keeps standard server logs of it, including your IP address, the page you asked for and your browser type, to keep the site online and secure. Vercel is the only company that receives anything at all about your visit. Please do not send sensitive information such as financial account numbers.

How does WaterproofingIndex use it?

Any message you send is used only to answer you. We do not sell personal information, we share nothing with the businesses listed on this site except what you send through the quote form, and we do not use it for advertising. Server logs are used only for security, troubleshooting and preventing abuse.

Does WaterproofingIndex contact the businesses on your behalf?

No, and this is worth stating plainly. WaterproofingIndex does not pass your details to anyone. When you find a business here you contact it yourself, using the phone number or website on its profile. Listings are compiled from public information: company names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, and the star ratings, review counts, review text and photographs published on Google Maps. Reviews and photographs remain the work of the people who posted them and of Google, and are shown here with that origin stated. This is public business data rather than private personal data.

Business owners can have a record corrected, or removed from the dataset entirely, without giving a reason. The address for those requests is not published yet, because mail on this domain does not resolve and an address that bounces would quietly lose the request. It will be published on the contact page as soon as it works, and requests sent to it are actioned on the listing: a removal deletes the record from the dataset and the profile page stops being built.

What are your privacy rights under PIPEDA?

Under PIPEDA you can ask what personal information WaterproofingIndex holds about you, request a copy, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent to our use of it. In practice, unless you have written to us, there is nothing held about you beyond server logs. Exercising those rights needs a channel to send the request through, and one is not published yet. When an address appears on the contact page, requests sent to it will be answered within a reasonable time.

How does WaterproofingIndex comply with CASL?

The listing records this site publishes are kept for as long as the listing is published, and are deleted when a business asks for its record to be removed. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect what we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure.

How do I contact WaterproofingIndex about privacy?

A contact address for privacy questions is not published yet. It will appear on the contact page once mail on this domain works, and requests sent to it will be answered. If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Please also review our terms of service, which govern your use of WaterproofingIndex.

What happens to what I send through the quote form?

If you fill in the quote form, we pass your name, contact details and your description of the job to one company listed in your area, so they can quote the work. One company, never a list, and never a pool of firms bidding against each other for you. The form will not send until you tick the box that says so, and that tick is recorded with the date and the exact sentence you agreed to. If you change your mind afterwards, write to us and we will delete what you sent.

Nothing else about you goes anywhere. Reading this site sends nobody anything.WaterproofingIndex sells no leads and no company can buy a better position: the order on every list comes from a published formula. When you call a company from a profile here, that call goes straight to the company, and we are not told it happened.
